Rules & Guidelines

Appointments

  1. Always make an appointment – one appointment per patient.
  2. Mention any special appointments i.e.: Completion of forms, ECG’s, excisions, papsmears, procedures, etc.
  3. All documentation must accompany you with Insurance consultations and you must always complete the necessary parts you are responsible for.
  4. Complete medical examinations will only be done Mo – Fr from 08h00 – 16h00.
  5. ALWAYS REPORT TO RECEPTION. Tell the staff if you are not feeling well.
  6. Always bring your medical aid card along; otherwise you will be treated as a private patient.
  7. Emergencies will be attended to as soon as possible. Please notify the practice that you are on your way, so that the necessary arrangements can be made.
  8. The doors to the practice are locked at night for security reasons – patients must ring the bell for service. If possible phone the practice before hand.
  9. When making an appointment with the nursing staff, please notify reception of the type of service you require.
  10. A fee may be charged for after hours and unscheduled consultations. After hours fees: Mo – Fr: 20h00 – 07h00 Sa 13h00 – Mo 07h00 as well as Public Holidays.
  11. After 20h00 – first come, first served.

Credit Policy

  1. Payments can be made 24 hours daily, although the accounts department is only available during office hours.
  2. All services to private patients are payable immediately
  3. All changes to address, contact details or medical aid must be done in writing at reception.
    Always bring your medical aid card along.
  4. Even though a patient is a member of a medical aid, the account remains his/her responsibility. Always make sure that your account is paid.
  5. All accounts older that 120 days will be handed over for collection. ITC traces will be done on accounts. All costs will be your responsibility.
  6. Interest is charged on outstanding accounts.
  7. ICD-10 codes relating to the diagnosis will be forwarded to the Medical Aid.
  8. Account communications will be done by telephone, SMS and e-mail

Dispensary

  1. ALL MEDICATION PAYABLE IMMEDIATELY. An Admin fee is charged on accounts not settled immediately.
  2. If medication is ordered telephonically, it must be collected within 48 hours.
  3. Scheduled medication can only be obtained with a written doctor’s script.
  4. Only original repeat scripts are valid.
  5. Dispensary staff are on duty from 07h00 – 21h00.
  6. Chronic scripts are only valid for 6 months, after which a doctor must be consulted.
  7. Chronic prescriptions must be collected between 08h00 and 17h00 on weekdays.
